People like to make plans for their future, for their careers, for their vacations, for a variety of reasons.

Sometimes those plans go along smoothly without a wrinkle or a “˜hiccup’, other times those plans are turned upside down. Some people clutch their plans to themselves and defy anyone to change them; others have the ability to “˜go with the flow’ and can change quickly when the need arises. Being flexible is a great asset.

How many times have you made plans and then asked the Lord to bless your plans and programs?

I have a friend who prays about everything…to be in line with God’s will, whatever way He chooses to lead. What an example to follow.

God’s thoughts are higher than your thoughts and mine. He has eternity in view with Christ Jesus as the key. He is the Door through which all must enter.

(NASB) Isaiah 55:6-7 “Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near.

7 Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.”

***These two verses give the salvation message before Christ was born!! Have you received God’s compassion and His abundant pardon?

(NASB) Isaiah 55:8-9 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,’ declares the Lord.

9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

***Is your focus on the “˜here and now’? When you make your plans have you asked the Lord to show you His plans for you?

Could your prayer be, as mine is: Open my eyes to the greater picture and plans which You have for me, those plans You have in mind.

Please show me Your way, please show me the next step, in the name of Jesus, Amen.

The witnesses to Boaz’ redeeming Naomi’s land (and future first born son of Ruth) gave their blessings:

(NASB) Ruth 4:12 “Moreover, may your house be like the house of Perez whom Tamar bore to Judah, through the offspring which the Lord will give you by this young woman.'”

***Perez and Tamar are named in the lineage of Jesus Christ. God’s divine plan would continue to be fulfilled through Boaz and Ruth.

(NASB) Isaiah 25:1 “O LORD, You are my God, I will exalt You, I will give thanks to Your name; For You have worked wonders, Plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness.”

How will you read the above verse? Read it through then forget it? Or will you make it your prayer?
