What does God say when you do not want to be thankful because of your circumstances or your emotions or how you are feeling physically?

(NIV) Ephesians 5:20 “always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

We are not to forget that He has everything we need for our lives – right now!  We need to remember our dependence is on our God – however we are feeling physically, emotionally, spiritually… He alone can supply all our needs.

Remember followers of Christ: the living God is Emmanuel (God with us.)

(NASB) 2 Corinthians 9:10-11 “Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness;
11 you will be enriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing thanksgiving to God.”

  1. Seed: Thank God for the seed He gives us to sow in others lives.
  2. Bread: Thank God for the bread He provides for spiritual and physical nourishment.
  3. Generosity (liberality): Thank God for the fruit produced in your life which is shown through your active goodness, kindness and giving to others in need.
  4. Opportunities: Thank God for the opportunities to show generosity toward the needs of others.
  5. Those who administer: Thank God for those who will administer, give out to others, what you have supplied.

When we worship the living God we are to shout with joy and serve Him with gladness.  We are to come before Him with joy-filled singing.  (Psalm 100:1)

~ Take it to heart ~

  We are to enter His gates with words of thanksgiving and praise.

(NASB) Psalm 100:4-5 “… Give thanks to Him, bless His name.
5 For the Lord is good;
His lovingkindness is everlasting
And His faithfulness to all generations.”

  We are to give thanks to God everyday.
