Amos was a prophet who told the truth that God will hunt down whoever God’s enemies are. He will find you.
Amos 9:1-15
God judges His people with fairness (oh good) and with justice (uh-oh).
God judges His people and His enemies.
Whatever God says, it will happen.
God protects His people, but He doesn’t let them get away with sin. That was true in the Old Testament and it is true today. When people intentionally hurt other Christians, God will discipline them, punishment that will hurt. Do they lose their salvation? No, but God does not let His children get away with sin.
When I am angry toward another Christian – I am not to react with ‘I’ll get them for this!’ God will do a better job than I ever could.
God judges from love – I would judge from revenge.
You and I need to be careful how we react toward those who mistreat us – God will judge them, far better than you or I ever could.
God’s Word ~ Alive!
Jesus said in John 5:30
“I can do nothing on My own initiative
As I hear, I judge;
And My judgment is just,
because I do not seek My own will,
but the will of Him who sent Me.”
Jesus’ words are sobering!
Jesus’ judgment is according to God’s will.
You can run
but you can’t hide from God’s judgment.
