Hosea was asked, by God, to marry a prostitute!  No kidding!  That prostitute was a picture of Israel, God’s people.  Hosea was an example of God Himself.  

  Israel worshiped other gods.  God told them to stop!  They did not.  Hosea married the prostitute, they had children.  And his wife ran away, doing “her thing”, of being a prostitute. 
Hosea chapters 1-14

  The LORD God gave a hard life to Hosea.  And Hosea did what God asked him to do, faithfully.   He was hard pressed when his wife would leave him for her old way of life.  He loved her!  

  God does the same thing for you and me.  He loves us.  He waits for us to come back to Him, repenting and turning from our ways of life that are not godly.

  The story of Hosea and Gomer is a hard one to read.  When we run away and turn to sin or our old way of life, God continually seeks His people to follow Him, doing what He knows will give them peace and success in life. 

  Wise discernment, do you know the ways of the LORD?
Do you live as if the ways of the LORD are right?
Are you right with God?  Then you are a righteous person.
One last question: Are you stumbling through life?
You do not have to, God’s ways are the right way to live your life.

Hosea 14:9
“Whoever is wise, let him understand these things
Whoever is discerning, let him know them.
For the ways of the LORD are right,
And the righteous will walk in them,
But transgressors will stumble in them.”

God’s ways are the right way to live your life.
