When the sons of Israel entered the Promised Land, certain cities were designated “Cities of refuge”. Priests were assigned to live in those cities. Their responsibility was also to act as judges.
A city of refuge was for the person who was an unintentional killer. A person could run to a city of refuge and be safe until his trial. He could not leave that city until he was acquitted by a judge. Numbers 35:1-15
How many times do people who intentionally kill today, are freed quickly?
We need to pay attention to God’s word and see His “take” on intentional and unintentional murder. Numbers 35:16-34
God’s Word ~ Alive!
Exodus 20:13
“You shall not murder.”
Listen to Jesus and what He said about murder:
Matthew 5:22
“But I say to you that everyone
who is angry with his brother,
‘You good-for-nothing,’ shall be
guilty before the supreme court;
and whoever says, ‘You fool,’
shall be guilty enough to go
into fiery hell.”
Jesus equated anger with murder.
Do you control your anger?
Run to Jesus and confess your anger
He is your Refuge!
