Aaron, Moses’ brother, was at the foot of Mount Sinai.  He was left in charge of about two million people.  Aaron, Moses may not be coming back, it’s been forty days and forty nights.  The people were getting impatient; they needed a leader.  Make us a god we can follow, we don’t know what has become of Moses!  Exodus 32:1

  What to do?  What to do?  Aaron came up with a brilliant plan.  Take off your rings and earrings of gold and give them to me.  The people said, this is more like it!  They gladly gave him their gold.  He melted it down and fashioned a … calf.  First Aaron did a foolish thing, asking for gold and listening to the people and their impatience.
Next Aaron did another foolish thing, he made a calf to be worshiped.  In fact he said, “This is your god, O Israel, who brought you up from the land of Egypt.”  Exodus 32:2-4

  What a stupid thing to say!  Aaron knew better, he had witnessed God at work in Egypt.
  Impatience does that, doesn’t it?  Make us say and do stupid things.  As Forrest Gump said, “Stupid is as stupid does”.  And God is so much greater than Forrest Gump or you and I.

  Aaron declared a feast the following day.  The people got up with full intention of “party time” and they did just that, ate and partied, and worshiped this gold calf! Exodus 32:6

God’s Word ~ Alive!
2 Timothy 4:2
“… preach the word; be ready in season and out of season;
reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.”

Reason out:
Impatience is NOT a virtue!
Patience IS a virtue!
