Finally, Pharaoh let the slaves of Egypt go into the wilderness, with all their livestock and goods given to them by the Egyptians; gold, silver, clothing.
The LORD did not lead these two million people by an easy road. He did not want them to change their minds and go back to Egypt. The LORD led them to the Red Sea.
The Hebrew slaves went out in an orderly fashion. The march was well planned and in a methodical arrangement. Moses remembered to take Joseph’s bones with them to bury in the Promised Land.
The LORD led these people by a seeable pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.
Exodus 13:17-22
The LORD led His people with His faithfulness in action.
Moses’ faithfulness in action; took Joseph’s bones as the sons of Israel promised Joseph before he died, hundreds of years before this.
What do you need to do to have faithfulness in action?
Pharaoh, in Egypt and mourning his firstborn son’s death, said, Oh no! Our slaves are gone. He ordered 600 chariots with their horses and drivers to chase after the slaves. The sons of Israel were in an impossible place, in the wilderness, on foot, with animals they were driving before them. Exodus 14:1-17
The LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart and he gave chase. What was the LORD’S purpose? So the Egyptian army and the people of Egypt would know that ‘I am the LORD.’ Exodus 14:4
Pharaoh caught up to the camping sons of Israel.
The sons of Israel blamed Moses. Didn’t we tell you so? It would be better to die in the wilderness. Moses replied: Do not fear! Stand and see the salvation of the LORD.
You will see His salvation, today, for you! The Egyptians you see today, you will not see again.
Exodus 14:11-13
The LORD will fight for you while you keep silent. The LORD told Moses to stretch out his hand over the Red Sea and divide it. The sons of Israel went over on dry ground. The Egyptians followed in their iron chariots. They drowned. Exodus 14:15-17
