Contrite hearts are always heard by God.
Contrite means sorrow: to mourn due to sin in our lives.
Shouldn’t we all be contrite when we know we need to confess our sins in prayer to God?
Psalm 51:17 Paraphrased prayer
Lord, God of the Bible, Your word is truth. You know all about me. I come to give to You the sacrifice of a broken spirit. You are right when You pinpoint a sin in my life which I need to ask You for forgiveness. You are pleased when I confess my sin to You.
You, O God, know my sins and my brokenness and contrite heart. In fact You promise not to despise me when I tell you about my sin and ask Your forgiveness.
Thank You! Thank You for Your Son’s sacrifice on the cross so I can be forgiven of this sin.
In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen!
