LIVESTOCK
Three plagues done, seven more to follow! This time livestock of the Egyptians would die. Moses and Aaron went again to Pharaoh and asked that God’s people be let go to worship Him. Pharaoh is warned of the next plague in Egypt, except in the land of Goshen where the Hebrew slaves lived.
The next morning, Pharaoh checked out the land of Goshen, not one of the livestock of the slaves was dead. And all the livestock in Egypt were … dead!
Still the heart of Pharaoh was hardened. Exodus 9:1-7
BOILS
This time, Pharaoh was not warned of the next plague – Moses threw soot from a kiln into the air, and it became boils on the Egyptians. He did this in Pharaoh’s presence. Painful boils on people and beasts throughout Egypt, but not in the land of Goshen. Pharaoh’s heart was hardened by the LORD. Pharaoh hardened his own heart, time after time, and now the LORD hardened his heart. Pharaoh refused to believe and refused to listen.
The LORD accused Pharaoh. “Still you exalt yourself against My people by not letting them go.” Exodus 9:8-17
Pharaoh was warned of the next plague, hail.
God’s Word ~ Alive!
Hebrews 4:12
“For the word of God is living and active and sharper
than any two-edged sword,
and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit,
of both joints and marrow,
and able to judge
the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
