The next judgment against Egypt: frogs! Frogs everywhere! In the houses, in the kitchens, in the bedrooms… frogs, frogs, and more frogs. Ugh!
The LORD sent Moses and Aaron into Pharaoh’s presence, again. “Let My people go, that they may serve Me.” Of course, Pharaoh refused to let his slaves go. Aaron again stretched out the staff and frogs covered the land of Egypt. The magicians also mimicked the miracle. Pharaoh, this time, called Moses and Aaron to ask their God to remove the frogs and promised to let the people go to worship the LORD. Pharaoh was encouraged to name the time when the frogs would not keep coming, “tomorrow” was the answer. Moses prayed and the frogs died. There were heaps of frogs throughout the land of Egypt. The land became foul. (I cannot imagine the smell!)
Pharaoh hardened his heart and reneged on his promise. The LORD knew Pharaoh would harden his heart. The LORD knows our hearts. Whether we believe in Him or not. Exodus 8:5-15
The LORD’S word is to be taken seriously.
