Moses grew up, raised as an Egyptian, in the royal household. But he knew his people were in slavery to Pharaoh.  One day, he went out to where some slaves were working hard!   An Egyptian was beating a slave, a relative of Moses, because the slave was a Hebrew, just like Moses.
Looking both ways, Moses struck the Egyptian down, killing him and then hiding the body in the sand.  Exodus 2:11-12

The next day, Moses went out to the same area he was in the day before.  This time he saw two Hebrews fighting. Hey, you shouldn’t fight one another.  The two men turned on Moses, saying, Who made you a prince or judge over us?  Are you intending to kill one of us, as you did the Egyptian yesterday?  Moses knew real fear!  Surely, Pharaoh will hear that I killed an Egyptian.  Sure enough, Pharaoh heard and tried to have Moses killed.  Exodus 2:13-15

Moses did what many people would have done… he ran away!  He ran to another country, Midian, and sat down by a well.  Seven women came with their flocks of sheep to water them.  Other shepherds were there and drove the women away. Again, Moses intervened, helping them to water their flocks.

The seven sisters went home early to their father and told him about the Egyptian who helped them.  The father asked, Where is he?  Why didn’t you invite him here?  Go get him and invite him for a meal.

Moses and Zipporah, one of the sisters, were married.  They had a son, Gershon. Exodus 2:16-22

Moses intervened two different times, in two different situations.
We are to live by faith in God, in the various situations of our lives.

God’s Word ~ Alive!

Hebrews 11:24-25
“By faith, Moses, when he had grown up,
refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,
choosing rather to endure ill-treatment with
the people of God than to enjoy the
passing pleasures of sin.”
