Jacob-Israel heard the wonderful news that his beloved son, Joseph, was alive and prime minister in Egypt.
He offered sacrifices to God when he arrived in Beersheba.  God spoke to Jacob during the night.  “I am the God of your father; do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you a  great nation there.  I will go down to Egypt, and I will also surely bring you up again; and Joseph will close your eyes.”
Genesis 46:1-4

Israel took with him to Egypt his sons, grandsons, daughters and granddaughters and all his descendants.  Genesis 46:7
Counting Joseph and his two sons in Egypt, 70 people in all who lived in Egypt.
Genesis 46:27

Israel was “all in” to God’s plan for his family.
What a reunion there was when Joseph met with Jacob, his father.   They must have hugged each other, weeping for the years that had separated them.  Then they may have stepped back to drink in the presence of each other, then hugged again.

The Pharaoh let them have the best land in the land of Goshen.  There they would raise sheep and livestock.  They would be shepherds for Pharaoh too. Genesis 46:28-34

God’s Word ~ Alive!
Jacob-Israel was “all in” to living in Egypt with all he had.
Following Jesus – we also need to be “all in”
to where God leads us.
