Desperate Times
We are living in desperate times. Times we are in financial difficulty as a nation. Times of political unrest. Times of utter ruin. Times of war in other countries. We are in a spiritual famine. Do we see the Lord God as our answer? Don’t see that in the media. Do you hear it at your church? Sure hope so!
Jacob and his large family were living in desperate times. There was a severe famine raging throughout the countries around Egypt. And Egypt had grain they were selling!
Jacob told his grown sons to get with it! Go buy us some grain! Jacob sent ten of his sons, he kept the youngest at home. He had already lost one son, Joseph. He wasn’t about to lose another son of his beloved deceased wife, Rachel. Genesis 42:1-4
There is a way out in desperate times – depend on the living God for His will.
It is the power of God on which we must rely… not on ourselves or the government.
We have hope in every situation through faith in the Lord Jesus!
2 Corinthians 4:7-10
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves;
we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.”
