How do you view your life? Do you feel as if you are a slave to your everyday life?
Perhaps you feel like you’re in prison and there is no way out? Joseph was in a real life prison, wrongfully accused and sentenced. He had been sold into slavery by ten brothers. Yet he did not become bitter or revengeful. Watch Joseph rely on his God, you also can rely on the living God whatever your circumstances, there is a way out!
Keep your eyes on the Lord God. Trust God! Rely on God!
Genesis 41:1-37
Joseph helped a king’s cupbearer to know the meaning of his dream… and asked that the cupbearer would remember him to the king. But that did not happen.
At the end of two full years, the Pharaoh had a dream. He had no idea what it meant so he asked his magicians for the meaning, they had no ideas! It was then, after two years, the chief cupbearer remembered Joseph. Joseph was called for, he shaved and changed clothes, and he appeared before the king of Egypt. Genesis 41:9-14
Pharaoh’s dream
Pharaoh was standing by the Nile – seven well-fed cows grazed on the marsh grass.
They were followed by seven ugly and starving cows. These cows ate up the well-fed cows. And Pharaoh woke up.
When he slept again, he dreamed that seven ears of grain, plump and good on a single stalk. Then, seven ears of thin and scorched sprouted up, swallowing the seven good ears of grain.
Genesis 41:1-8
Joseph’s godly interpretation
Both dreams have the same meaning: “God has told Pharaoh what He is about to do.”
Seven good cows are seven years, the seven good ears are seven years. The seven ugly and starving cows and the seven thin and scorched ears are seven years.
There will be seven years of abundance in all the land of Egypt. Followed by seven years of a severe famine. Because the dream was repeated two times, “the matter is determined by God and God will quickly bring it about.” Genesis 41:32
Joseph’s wise solution
Joseph told Pharaoh to put a wise, discerning man in position to be over the land of Egypt. Joseph was chosen by Pharaoh. God’s timing is always best, even when we need to wait years for His perfect answer.
Joseph also told Pharaoh to put overseers in charge of the land to take a fifth of the produce of the land in the years of abundance and store the grain. Then during the famine sell the grain back to the people. Genesis 41:33-36

Isaiah 50:10
“Who is among you that fears the LORD,
That obeys the voice of His servant,
That walks in darkness and has no light?
Let him trust in the name of the LORD
and rely on his God.”
