Abraham’s servant prayed specific prayer for God’s direction to be shown to him. He traveled a long way and wanted to fulfill his mission to find a wife for Isaac from Abraham’s relatives. Genesis 24:12-14
A beautiful girl had graciously given the servant a drink of water and then offered to water the ten camels he had with him. That was in answer to the specific prayer the servant had prayed, just moments before. Wow! That prayer was answered quickly.
Sometimes our God waits to answer prayers. And when He does, we should praise Him and have that Wow moment when we recognize His answer.
After Rebekah (the name of the beautiful girl) finished watering the camels, the servant gave her a gold ring… and two bracelets – expensive gifts! The servant then asked who her father was… can you imagine the Wow! when she told the servant who her father was?!!! He was the son of Abraham’s brother! This was again, a Wow moment.
The servant asked if he could stay with her family? She said, yes, we have plenty of straw and feed for your camels and a place for you to stay with us. Genesis 24:25
Then the servant bowed low and worshiped the LORD.
Genesis 24:26
