Sarai’s solution to have a child, her way…
Sarai was Abram’s wife, she knew what God told her husband, that the two of them would have a child, a son. She was without children and she was beyond, way beyond, the age of bearing a child. She decided God wasn’t moving fast enough, she would help Him out. Have you ever done that? Sarai was exposing herself, revealing her lack of trust and faith in God! Proverbs 3:5-7
Sarai came up with a plan, her Egyptian maid should bear a child for her. She would take the child as her own. (That never happened!)
Sarai talked to Abram about her plan, and he went along with it. Hagar did conceive and then she despised her mistress.
Genesis 16:1-4
Sarai’s solution to her maid’s despising her
Sarai blamed Abram for her maid’s attitude. Abram did not want to be involved with the two women’s squabbles. Abram gave Sarai full reign to treat Hagar, any way she chose. This was not a bright and shining moment in Sarai’s life. It exposed her and her lack of faith in God. She was wise in her own eyes, she did not fear the LORD and did not turn away from evil when she mistreated Hagar to the point that her maid ran away.
We do things which we do not want to remember… we expose ourselves. Our lack of trust and faith in God is exposed!
My friend, put your trust in the LORD with all your heart, today, for your situation.
Don’t lean on your own understanding like Sarai did. Acknowledge God and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
