Are some myths based on facts? I think so.
One example which comes to mind is the… dragon.
Job 41:1-11 a large fish or whale is described.
Job 41:12-34 a dragon is described. God’s word describes a beast which is also described in stories. And the descriptions “fit” each other.
Proverbs 16:18 “Pride goes before destruction,…”
The dragon was almost impossible to kill. It had great strength Job 41:12.
It had outer armor and double mail, his teeth were terrors, his scales were his pride, they were “shut up as with a tight seal.” The scales were so near to another that no air could come between them. They “were joined one to another; they clasped each other and could not be separated.” Job 41:13-17
When the beast sneezed, light would flash forth. Out of his mouth go burning torches; sparks of fire would leap forth. Job 41:18-19
A fearsome beast… because God creates creatures we have evidence of from their bones, like the dinosaurs. (God’s word describes dinosaurs… Job 41:15-18)
Think about the dragon described in God’s word. The dragon could have been filled with pride… he was nearly impossible to overcome. In fact God’s word says, “He looks on everything that is high; He is king over all the sons of pride.” Job 41:34

Proverbs 16:18
“Pride goes before destruction,
And a haughty spirit before stumbling.”
Be careful of your pride –
you will stumble because of pride.
