1 Chronicles 28:1-8
  David assembled all the officials of Israel in Jerusalem.
  David explained to them his intentions were to build a permanent home for the ark of the covenant of the LORD.  David then prepared to build it.  1 Chronicles 28:1-2

  But God told David, ‘You shall not build a house for My name because you are a man of war and have shed blood.’ 
1 Chronicles 28:3

  Then David continued speaking to the assembled men: ‘Yet, the LORD, the God of Israel, chose me from all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever.’
  David said that God chose the tribe of Judah to lead Israel From David’s father’s house and from all his brothers, David was chosen by God.

Even when God says, ‘no’ to our desires – He still has chosen us to do His will.

  David further told the assembled men, that God chose Solomon to be the next king of Israel over all his brothers. 
1 Chronicles 28:6

  God chose Solomon to build the house for the LORD.

  God would establish Solomon’s kingdom forever… with the condition if Solomon would resolutely do what God said.  David was careful to do what God said, and Solomon was to follow in his dad’s footsteps.  1 Chronicles 28:7

  David charged all the leaders of Israel to seek God and His word so that they may possess all the land and give it to future generations.
