Praising God … is important
1 Chronicles 25:1-2
King David and the commanders of the army set apart specific men “to prophesy with lyres, harps and cymbals.” 1 Chronicles 25:2
Asaph, A name which appears in the list, was an author of some of the Psalms. How rich are God’s words through this specific man. And any who read, thoughtfully and prayerfully, are blessed.
Psalms 73-83 were written by Asaph. Some of his psalms are prophetic. I never saw this before… until I began writing this devotional. And that was what he was to do, prophesy through the writing of these psalms.
It is exciting to me to see truths that I have not “seen” or “heard” before. This is why we are to study the whole Bible – the Old Testament and the New Testament.
The New Testament proves the Old Testament prophecies concerning the first coming of the Lord Jesus.
God Almighty is the same God in the Old Testament as He is in the New Testament.
Perhaps you are one who does not believe this – let God’s word show you.
Consider this ~
Part of a Psalm which Asaph wrote:
Psalm 73:25-26 NASB
“Whom have I in heaven but You?
And besides You, I desire nothing on earth.
26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
