1 Chronicles 22:17-19
  David prepared all the leaders of Israel to support Solomon, the next king of Israel. 1 Chronicles 22:17 

  How did he do this?  He encouraged others to accept the leadership of Solomon.
  Set your hearts, your soul (mind, emotions, will) to seek the LORD your God; “arise, build the sanctuary of the LORD God, bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD and holy vessels of God into the house that is to be built for the name of the LORD.” 1 Chronicles 22:19

  David, even near the end of his life, worked for unity in Israel, to last after he died.
  David, even as death approached prepared men to support the future king of Israel, Solomon.

  David, charged men to build the sanctuary which would be for the name of the LORD.
  David’s motives – that everything done would be “for the name of the LORD”.
  David passed on leadership wisely.
