It is God who prepares for the future
1 Chronicles 22:6-16
Before David died he gathered needed materials to build a house for God, a magnificent temple for the God of Israel.
David called for Solomon and gave him a responsibility “to build a house to the name of the LORD God of Israel.” 1 Chronicles 22:8
God told David a son of his would have rest from Israel’s enemies. That son’s name was Solomon. God promised He would give Solomon peace and quiet when he reigned as king. And also God also told David, Solomon would build “a house for My name, and he shall be My son and I will be his Father.” It would be God who established Solomon’s the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.”
1 Chronicles 22:9-10
David then spoke to Solomon assuring him that he would prosper by keeping God’s statutes and God’s ordinances.
David encouraged Solomon. “Be strong and courageous, do not fear nor be dismayed.” 1 Chronicles 22:13
David also listed the amounts and the materials which were stockpiled. Solomon was given permission to add to that stockpile. 1 Chronicles 22:14
David even said that men skilled as stonecutters, masons of stone, carpenters, skilled men in every area who were needed to build the temple were ready to go!
1 Chronicles 22:15
David again listed and added to the list, gold, silver, bronze and iron without limit.
Then David said something very important. “Arise and work, and may the LORD be with you.” 1 Chronicles 22:16
