Conquests … Conqueror
1 Chronicles 20:2-8
Conquests are utterly defeating to the enemies. And David did just that.
Conquests involve war and killing.
Conquests are over enemies which may be stronger than you and even unusual – different from you.
David and his army conquered descendants of giants.
What giant needs to be conquered in your life? What enemy of yours needs to be utterly defeated … in your life?
A great, strong enemy is sin (of any kind).
I am learning that I do not have the strength to defeat some of my sins.
I am also learning that faith in Jesus Christ is the answer to my dilemma. His death on the cross defeated sin (my sins! and your sins).
In Christ Jesus I am under God’s grace and mercy and His forgiveness.
In Christ Jesus I am covered by His sacrificial blood given for you and me.
Romans 6:12-14 “Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts,
13 and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
14 For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.”
Consider this ~
In Christ, followers of Christ, we are more than conquerors
over sin through faith in Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is the conqueror!
Romans 8:37
“But in all these things we overwhelmingly
conquer through Him who loved us.”
