1 Chronicles 17:16-23
David was told “No!” by God to build a house for God in Jerusalem.  What?!!!!
David had a heart’s desire to honor his God, and God told him “No”?
How did David react to this affront to his royal presence?

King David went in and sat before the LORD.  He prayed and talked with God.
When you are disappointed, greatly disappointed, do you turn to the LORD and talk with Him?

David recognized that it was God who brought him to be leader over Israel.
David recognized that this was a small thing to God and that the LORD still regarded David on a personal level.
David recognized that the LORD knew David, his motives, his plans, his desires, and David continued to serve God.
God also knows your motives, your plans and your desires… yet you are still God’s servant.
It is God who works in our lives.

David knew that there was no other god like God.  And he also knew that the people of Israel were redeemed by the LORD, that He protected His people and brought them out of slavery in Egypt.
David knew that the people of Israel were the LORD’S forever.  (That is still true today!)
David yielded to God’s will for him… acknowledged that what God spoke would be established forever.

Consider this  ~

Do you know God, personally?
Do you know God knows all about you?
Do you know God’s best is for you?
What is your attitude before God?
