God’s will or our desires?
1 Chronicles 17:10b-15
David desired to build a house for God. And God said, No!
The LORD said He would have one of David’s sons build a temple (a house for God). The LORD went further and said that He would establish the kingdom under this son (it would be Solomon).
The LORD promised He would not take away His lovingkindness from David’s son as He did with “him who was before you.” That would be King Saul.
1 Chronicles 17:13
The LORD also promised David that He would establish Solomon’s throne forever.
Nathan the prophet told David all this which the LORD said.
David had a heart for God. He desired to show his heart’s desire for his love for his God.
David could have bulldozed his way and built a house for God even though God told him “No!”
David listened and yielded to God.
We also need to yield to God’s will and not our desires. Romans 12:1-2
Do you listen to God?
Do you yield to your own desires to God for His desires for you?
Consider this ~
Psalm 37:4
“Delight yourself in the LORD,
And He will give you the desires of your heart.”
Are you willing to let God have His way, His desires for you?
