Morning & Evening
1 Chronicles 16:37-43
David prayed and celebrated before the ark of the covenant – which represented God’s presence with His people.
David provided specific people to minister before the ark continually, as every day’s work required.
David put worship of God first.
Then David appointed gate keepers – again specific men are named.
David left Zadok the priest and his relatives before the tabernacle of the LORD in the high places which were at Gibeon.
These priests were “to offer burnt offerings to the LORD on the altar of burnt offering continually morning and evening, ‘according to the LORD’s command written in the law of the LORD.’
Other men were named to give thanks to the LORD, “because His lovingkindness is everlasting.”
In addition more men were named to play instruments: trumpets (brass) and cymbals (percussion) and with other instruments for the songs of God.
After all this – the people went to their own homes and David returned to bless his household.
This was a BIG deal! This time was honoring God, worshiping God, instructions and people were put in place to worship God – morning and evening.
Consider this ~
Follower of Christ – we are to worship our God
morning and evening.
