1 Chronicles 15:29
It happened when the ark of the covenant of the LORD was carried into the city of David that Michal, the daughter of Saul and one of the wives of David, looked out a window.  She saw the king leaping and celebrating with joy when the ark of God was being brought into the city of David.  She despised him in her heart.  1 Samuel 18:20-21; 1 Samuel 19:11-12
Michal’s thoughts were voiced to David after the celebration with dripping contempt.

2 Samuel 6:20-22
Michal paid for her foolish words and a heart which despised her husband.  David told her he was celebrating before the LORD.  He wasn’t ashamed to worship God with true joy.
How did Michal pay?  She had no children “to the day of her death.”

Consider this  ~

There are consequences to the contempt we have in our hearts.
