What Ancestors … are important to you?
1 Chronicles 15:3-10
David called for an assembly of all Israel to convene in Jerusalem so the ark of God would be escorted into the city.
He gathered together the sons of Aaron, the Levites, they were the ones God called to be priests. Their names are given, we don’t know too much about them as individuals… but they were important to the succeeding generations.
Your ancestors were important people. They may not have been well known – but God knows them, even though you do not.
My ancestors are not well known in the history books, but God knows their history.
I had an uncle who would make up stories which were truly funny. Will he be known for these stories? His daughters are writing a book to remember his clever stories.
He was an intelligent man who befriended relatives and friends – he gave them jobs to support their families. He was a mentor to my brother. He loved his family.
What memories do you have of one of your family members? Too many times we remember the bad, the ugly of them, how they hurt us in some way. Shouldn’t we remember the good, the positive influence they have played in our lives?
