Sin in the royal family
1 Chronicles 14:3-7
David took more wives at Jerusalem and became the father of more sons and daughters.
Looking at the chronicler’s history of David’s wives and children:
6 wives and 6 children in the time he lived in Hebron.
We are not told how many wives and 9 sons in Jerusalem plus an unknown number of daughters.
One daughter of David is mentioned, Tamar. She became the focal point in this family’s problems – through no fault of her own. A half-brother, Ammon, raped her and caused great grief and consequences in the royal family. 2 Samuel 13:4-6
There are always consequences to sin, aren’t there?
When there is royalty involved, or people in high positions – the headlines are big and bold.
What about your life and your sins?
Shouldn’t we be thinking before we commit sin?
Even though your sins aren’t made public, they still impact yourself and others. They still need to be forgiven by God.
Being tempted is NOT sin. Giving into the temptation IS sin.
When we decide to sin – the cost is not considered, but getting that prize is all consuming, even though it IS sin.
Consider this ~
Sin is still sin –
