Ephesians 2:8-9 (paraphrased prayer)
Your word, Oh LORD, says “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.”
Thank You for your favor and benevolence in my behalf. Only by faith in Your Son am I given Your great gift of being saved for eternity.
Your gift is not a result of anything I can or may do, if this were so, I could boast about how good I am. I cannot do that! It is Your gift of favor because by faith that Jesus is my Savior. I asked Him to be my Savior, and He is! By Your grace and favor.
How can I not be thankful to You for such a great gift?
