Your Ancestors are important.
1 Chronicles 4:11-23
Do you know what your ancestors did for a living? Do you know where they lived?
Some of the genealogy recorded in 1 Chronicles lets us see a window into some of the lives during biblical times.
Some men were craftsmen. 1 Chronicles 4:14
One man married and had children by a daughter of a Pharaoh and that same man also had a Jewish wife and children. 1 Chronicles 4:17
Then a woman’s name, a sister of a man is named.
In 1 Chronicles 4:21, several generations later we are told there were “families of the house of linen workers.”
Following are men who ruled in Moab (a pagan country). Then the chronicler states, “And the records are ancient.” 1 Chronicles 4:22
Potters and those who lived in two different towns lived with the king for his work.
Genealogical lists can be boring to read. When additional details items are inserted, they pique our interest.
When you think of your ancestors… what has come down to you through word of mouth or a book written about those people? Anything you know?
Because of your ancestors, you are here! Your ancestors are important to your history. No matter what those men and women did or who they were. You, your children, and your family have a background and history.
Consider this ~
Thank God for your ancestors,
without them you would not exist.
