Are You Provoking God’s Anger?
Some of the lineage of Solomon were godly kings, some blatantly NOT. Today, when we think about leaders of nations – some, perhaps a few, are godly leaders. But many deny the worship owed the God who created them.
1 Chronicles 3:10
One name stands out to me in Solomon’s genealogical tree – Manasseh. He was an evil ruler, worshipped other gods and he was said to be the worst king in Israel (North) or in Judah (South). 1 Chronicles 3:12
He set idols in the house of the LORD, where God said in 2 Kings 21:4 “In Jerusalem I will put My name.” Also, God said in 2 Kings 21:7, “In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen from all the tribes of Israel, I will put My name forever.”
Manasseh openly defied the living, holy God!
The LORD also said He would make Israel wander from the land God gave their fathers – the Promised Land.
Did Manasseh listen? No, he did not. Manasseh seduced the people to do more evil – more evil than pagan countries did.
God told through His prophets – He would judge Israel by bringing calamity on Jerusalem and Judah.
In 2 Kings 21:11-12, God warned them they would be delivered into the hand of their enemies.
Why? Because they did evil in God’s sight, provoking the LORD God’s anger.
Consider this ~
Today, are you provoking God’s anger
OR
are you coming to Him alone, to worship?
