Some ancestors are without a good or bad reputation ~ their lives are simply not known.
  Other ancestors are notorious for bad behavior, or wrong choices.
  There are those ancestors which have a sterling character, godly men and women.

  Boaz was such a godly man.  You can read about him the book of Ruth.  Boaz married Ruth and through this lineage, King David was born.

  Through this lineage Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ, was born.

Looking back ~ what will future generations know you for? 
Will they know that you are a faithful godly man or woman? 
Will they know you received Jesus as your Savior?
