John wrote a short and pithy letter – it is to you and me!
                                                            it is for you and me!

  2 John 1:3 “Grace, mercy and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.”

Follower of Christ: we need to recognize that in order to live in truth and love – it must come from the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.  It is the Father’s and the Son’s grace, it is their mercy and their peace. 

  There is nothing we can do to earn God’s grace, mercy and peace – all are gifts given to us, so we can live in truth and love.  We need Jesus to be our Savior, period.  There is no other way!

Follower of Christ: we are to walk (live) in God’s truth – that is His commandment to us. 2 John 1:4

Follower of Christ: Another commandment ~ love one another!
  This is NOT if you like another believer  ~ we are to love them.
  This is NOT if you dislike another believer ~ we are to love them.
All believers are brothers and sisters in Christ, we are commanded to love one another.

We have a choice ~ to choose to do what God commands ~ or not!

Think about this!

2 John 1:9
“Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God;
the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son.”

Remember:
It is the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ;
 whose grace, mercy and peace
we must have to live in God’s truth and love.
