When was the last time you wrote a note or letter of encouragement to someone in your life who may need encouragement or would just be pleased to hear from you?
Paul did that from a prison in Rome.  He sent it to Colossae.

Buried in the heart of this letter Paul said the following:
Colossians 3:1-4 “Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
3 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.”

Encouraging other believers is to point them to the Lord Jesus Christ.  It is all about Him!
Colossians 3:15-17 “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
17 Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.”

Think about this!

Colossians 3:23-24
“Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men,
24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance.  It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.”
