To be a light in darkness
These days are filled with darkness of unbelief, from the highest positions of power to the man and woman living on the streets of our cities.
This is not the only time in history that this has occurred.
Ephesus was filled with the darkness of ignorant unbelief in the living God.
When a letter was written to the newly formed church in Ephesus, Paul gave clear direction to the believers.
He reminded them of who they were in Christ – adopted children of God, blessed with every spiritual blessing from God Himself.
We are to also remember who we are – adopted children of the Father. Ephesians 1:5
We also are blessed beyond measure, for Jesus has blessed us with every spiritual blessing.
Ephesians 1:3
Paul reminded the Ephesians, just as we need to be reminded, that once we were dead in our trespasses and sins.
Remember: we have been raised with Christ so to prove we have been saved by God’s grace, His kindness toward us by faith in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:5-8
Nothing we do will save us, only faith in Jesus and what He did for us saves us. For He gave His life in our place.
Think about this!
Because we are children of God by faith in Jesus, we are to be a light in the darkness of our times.
