Paul suffered many afflictions because he followed God’s word as he established churches in cities which never heard of Jesus.

  Whenever you suffer unjust afflictions because of your faith in Jesus Christ, remember:
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
4 who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”  2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Think about this!

Afflictions are not to be wasted! 
   Afflictions should cause us to rely on God as our Refuge!
      Afflictions will cause us to be compassionate toward others who are undergoing afflictions.
