  God’s surprising command to His prophet Hosea.
Hosea 1:2 “When the LORD first spoke to Hosea, the LORD said to Hosea, ‘Go, take yourself a wife of harlotry (prostitution) and have children of harlotry; for the land commits flagrant harlotry, forsaking the LORD.”

  God’s reason to give such a command – His chosen people were prostituting themselves by worshiping other gods. They were unfaithful to worshiping the living God who loved them.

  Hosea’s marriage was a mirror of how God’s people treated Him.
  God even talks about His jealousy in the New Testament in the writings of Paul.
2 Corinthians 11:2 “For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I betrothed you to one husband, so that to Christ I might present you a pure virgin.”

Think about this!

Through faith in Christ Jesus – you are “a pure virgin”.
It is Christ Jesus who makes you clean, follower of Christ.
Are you a sinner?  Yes!
BUT: are you a forgiven sinner?
Only you can answer that!
