Ananias lived in Damascus… he was a follower of Jesus Christ, the resurrected Lord.

Jesus knew where Ananias lived… He knew the heart of Ananias … and … He knew the name of Ananias.  And Ananias recognized Jesus!  How can we know this?

(NASB) Acts 9:10 “Now there was a disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and the Lord said to him in a vision, ‘Ananias.’  And he said, ‘Here I am, Lord.’”

Scripture calls Jesus “Lord” in this verse.  And “Lord” is the word “Adonay” in Hebrew.  It means “Master”.  The Lord Jesus was the Master of Ananias… is He your Master?  Are you obedient to His words to you in the Holy Bible?  All believers in Jesus Christ will be held accountable to do what God says!

Scripture does not state if Ananias was awake or asleep when he had a vision from God.  The Lord Jesus called this man by name.  He also knows your name.  He also knows where you live… He knows the country, the city, town, village, even the cave where Christians have fled because of persecution.

Never forget, the Lord Jesus Christ is Immanuel… God with us… wherever you are!

How did Ananias respond?  “Here I am, Lord.”  Are you as quick to respond as Ananias when he recognized the call of the Lord Jesus?  Ananias was available to his God.  But was he obedient?  We will explore that thought later this week.

Responding to the Lord God is to obey Him and do what He says to do.
Be quick to respond… then be ready for the long road of obedience.

~ Take it to heart ~

Ananias – is an example we can follow.
Be alert.
Be quick to acknowledge the living God of the Bible.
Be listening.

“Here I am, Lord.”
