Peter was talking to men of Israel who were descendants of the prophets (in the Old Testament of the Holy Bible).
These men were sons of the covenant which God made with their forefathers. God promised Abraham (the first Hebrew) “‘And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’”
Wonder of wonders! “your seed” is the promised Messiah through the lineage of Abraham.
Wonder of wonders! Jesus Christ is that “seed”!
All sins were taken on by the Lord Jesus as He hung on the cross on that long ago day.
God, the living God of the Bible, provided salvation for every person! However, however, it is only through faith in the name and person of Jesus Christ can anyone be saved! Jesus said so! God’s word declares it as a fact.
(NASB) John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
(NASB) John 3:3 “In reply Jesus declared, ‘I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.’”
Wonder of wonders! Everyone is included in this ancient promise of God!
Wonder of wonders! It is through faith in Jesus Christ anyone can be blessed with forgiveness, included in the family of God, and receive life eternally in the presence of God!
(NASB) Acts 4:12 “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”
Ignoring such a Savior, rejecting such a glorious and grand salvation, damns us.
Each person is responsible for what they believe. Either a person is forgiven through faith in Christ’s death for their sins… or not.
God cannot look upon sin… for He is absolutely holy. If you have your sins on you when you die… you will not be in God’s presence. However, if you received forgiveness for your sins through faith in the death and resurrected life of Christ…you will spend eternity in heaven!
