Peter was preaching a sermon in Jerusalem and the following was contained in it:
(NASB) Acts 3:22-23 “Moses said, ‘The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brethren; to Him you shall give heed to everything He says to you.
23 ‘And it will be that every soul that does not heed that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’”
The Lord God raised up a prophet and that Prophet is Jesus Christ, our risen Lord. We are warned over and over…and we need to pay attention! Peter told that crowd (and you and me) we are to pay attention to God or be “utterly destroyed.”
Paying attention…or not…to that Prophet determines our eternal destiny.
We are to pay attention, to give heed, to everything God states through His word, the Holy Bible. Every person, who does not heed, who does not pay attention to that Prophet will be “utterly destroyed from among the people.”
God’s love warns you and me. God’s love draws you and me to pay attention to what Jesus said.
Throughout his ministry, Jesus proclaimed, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 4:17)

Take Heed! Pay Attention! … or not …!
