Peter’s sermon on the Day of Pentecost was meant to convict the crowd of their sins and to show them the salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Today, we don’t “hear” this often.
Recognition of our Problem
You and I have a problem…we are sinners and we need the work of Jesus Christ to save us. all of us, you and me, we cannot measure up to the holiness of God. Only Jesus Christ was without sin, only His perfect sacrifice in our place was acceptable to God.
Acknowledge our Problem & Repent
You and I have an opportunity – to confess, to profess our sins and to repent of our sins. Turn away from them and turn to God through faith in Jesus.
Our sins ~ forgiven!
(NASB) 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He (Jesus) is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.”
God’s promise given!
(NASB) Romans 5:5 “and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
What are the followers of Christ robbed of too often? Joy! Peace! The joy and peace which only God gives to His children when we repent and go to God through Jesus and His work on the cross.
