One hundred twenty people gathered together in one house to pray.  Suddenly, from heaven came the sound of a mighty wind [and] tongues of fire were seen on each person present.  Then one more proof that these men and women were filled with the Holy Spirit of God:
(NASB) Acts 2:4 “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.”

Jesus had promised His followers that they would “receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…” (Acts 1:8)

What else had Jesus said?  “…and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”
(Acts 1:8)

How can anyone witness of Jesus Christ to others if they cannot speak or understand the various languages and dialects?  Tomorrow we will consider these phenomena.

To be an effective witness of Jesus Christ to others, we need to be filled with God Himself…His Holy Spirit.  To love God, to love His word and to love the person to whom we are witnessing…changed lives will result [because our God is a God of power and He sent His Holy Spirit of power into our lives!]

Your attitude and mine toward God, His word, and people…will open or shut doors…to Jesus Christ.

(NASB) Romans 8:5-6 “For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace…”

~ Take it to heart ~

(NIV) Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Are you speaking the language of God’s love?
