When you have a situation in which you have no power to solve or change, what do you do?  Followers of Christ, would you agree we should pray first?

Jesus was traveling from Judea and came into Galilee.  In fact, He went to the town of Cana in Galilee where He had made water into wine at a wedding feast.

A royal official had a sick son in Capernaum.  The father came to Jesus and implored, begging Him to “come down and heal his son; for  he was at the point of death.”
John 4:46-47

Jesus said to him,  “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you simply do not believe.”  John 4:48 NASB

Are we included in that  statement?  We know that Jesus does not wave a magic wand – He simply speaks!  Remember God spoke and all of creation came into being.  Genesis 1-2

Today, are we expecting the Lord God to change our circumstances?  We have a choice we need to make … do we believe God or not?  Do we agree with God’s thoughts?  Are we looking for changes, big changes, to correct the course of our circumstances?

Who do we believe?   Do we believe along “political party” lines?  Or do we believe God and His word?  Are we willing to let go of what we want and trust God for what we need?

How do we pray?  Are we praying for God’s will to be done… no matter what that will look like?

The royal official wanted his son – healed.  And he thought that for this to happen, Jesus had to be present.  But Jesus said “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you simply do not believe.”  John 4:48 NASB

The father implored Jesus to come to Capernaum, right then, to heal his son before he died.
Jesus then said, “Go, your son lives.”  And the man believed Jesus’ word and started to go home.

The man’s slaves met him on the way, and told him the great news, his son was well.  When asked “What time did he begin to be well?”  The slaves told him the hour and it was at the same time Jesus said, “Your son lives.”  John 4:51-53

Jesus did not withhold life from the man’s son, but the results of all this, the man and his entire household believed in Jesus.  John 4:53
