Continuous prayer – trusting God
For whom do you continuously pray – because you love them and desire them to respond to the living God?
Job did that for his seven sons.
NASB Job 1:5 “When the days of feasting had completed their cycle, Job would send and consecrate them (his children), rising up early in the morning and offering burnt offerings according to the number of them all; for Job said, ‘Perhaps my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.’ thus Job did continually.”
Job was the richest man in the east. Job 1:3
And he believed in God. His integrity was well respected. Job was well thought of by God.
Why can this be said? Because Scripture says Job was “blameless, upright, fearing God and turning away from evil.” Job 1:1 NASB
Job loved his ten children; after their get together’s, after they held their feasts Job would pray for them. He worshiped God and then consecrated, yielded each of his children to God, setting them apart to God. He offered God sacrificial offerings in the names of his sons.
Job was a pious man. He said, “Perhaps my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.”
Job 1:5 Job never gave up on his children.
Job is an example of a godly father, praying for his children.
