With the advent of the internet, the amount of information available to us every day exponentially increased to the point that it confused opinion and fact. I have to admit that I can’t always tell fact from opinion, especially now during this pandemic. What is true? What is opinion? What do others want us to believe? What do I really believe???
When Mary was pregnant with Jesus, she went to stay with her cousin, Elizabeth. Elizabeth was miraculously pregnant with her son, John, who was going to be the “one calling in the wilderness” to prepare the world for Jesus Isaiah 40:3 (NIV).
Luke 1:39- 45 (NIV) “At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. In a loud voice she exclaimed: ‘Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! 43 But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. 45 Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!’”
Elizabeth recognized her Savior and her baby leapt in her womb for joy!
Take time to contemplate this truth. We are so bombarded with information that we cannot tell truth from lies. We are confused and some of us fearful.
Follower of Christ, it is time to recognize…
God can take away my confusion and fill me with His Truth.
God can take away my fear and fill me with His Hope.
God can take the chaos in my life and replace it with His Peace.
~ Take it to heart ~
“Lord, I want to recognize you. Please open my eyes that I may see YOU and not be confused by, or fearful of, what is happening in the world. I want to see only You. Lord, I want Satan behind me and You in front of me so that I may follow You alone. Amen.”
