This could be your prayer, follower of Christ:
“O Lord, I see and hear of chaos in the streets of our cities.
My sorrow for my country leads me to You!
Help us, O Lord, for we are sinners.  Help us to put our hope in You, the living God.
I am so thankful for You, Lord Jesus, for being my Savior.
Forgive me for complacency and a wrong attitude of compliance in wrong and sinful behaviors.
We need Your intervention and Your mercy, O merciful God, in the days of this COVID pandemic and the political turmoil.
Revive us as a nation to recognize our need of Your forgiveness and Your right to expect obedience on the part of Your people, the followers of Christ.”

As the exiles in Babylon in days long ago – they were utterly defeated; their temple in Jerusalem had been burned and totally destroyed, it was rubble, the people were killed.  These exiles were devastated!

Yet is in the middle of this depressing life, Jeremiah the prophet reminded them:

NASB Lamentations 3:21-25
“This I recall to mind,
Therefore I have hope.
22 The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease,
For His compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
24 ‘The LORD is my portion,’ says my soul,
‘Therefore I have hope in Him.’
25 The LORD is good to those who wait for Him,
to the person who seeks Him.
26 It is good that he waits silently
For the salvation of the LORD.”
