How would you answer the following question, “Who are you?”
How many, followers of Christ, would say, “I am a follower of Christ Jesus”?

John the Baptist answered that same question with “I am not the Christ (Messiah).”  John 1:20

The men confronting him were curious about this man.  He lived in the wilderness, he dressed differently – in fact his clothes were made of camel’s hair with a leather belt around his waist.  He preached the message: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”  Matthew 3:2, 4

Then the priests and Levites asked John more questions:
NASB John 1:21 “‘What then?  Are you Elijah?”  And he said, ‘I am not.’ ‘Are you the Prophet?’ And he answered, ‘No.’”

After answering an additional question of “Who are you, so that we may give an answer to those who sent us?  What do you say about yourself?”  John 1:22  Then he quoted the great prophet, Isaiah.
NASB John 1:23 “ ‘I am a voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’ as Isaiah the prophet said.’”

~ Take it to heart ~

We can, follower of Christ Jesus, say with confidence,
“I am a follower of Jesus, my Savior.”
