NASB John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
“and the Word was God.” Do you and I really understand the worship due to the Lord Jesus?
He is God!
In the High Priestly prayer which Jesus prayed on the night of His betrayal and death, He stated,
“Now Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.”
At another point in the ministry of Jesus:
Jesus knowingly believed that He was equal with God the Father.
NASB John 10:30 “I and the Father are one.”
Jesus declared Himself to be God! Fully God.
The Jewish leaders understood what He meant and it made them angry.
NASB John 10:31 “The Jews picked up stones again to stone Him.”
NASB John 10:32-33 “Jesus answered them, I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?
33 The Jews answered Him, ‘For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God.’”
The book of John begins with the astounding statement:
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1
Fact: NASB Luke 1:35 “The angel answered and said to her (the virgin Mary), ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God.”
Jesus is still God. He is still the Word who reveals God to us. Our God is greater than our limited understanding or imagination.
Our God is available – right this moment – for your needs!
~ Take it to heart ~
Jesus is still God on this day of July 29, 2020.
