Behavior Changes
Where do you turn for wisdom in your home, in your job, in your church; in other words, in your life? The world seems to have wisdom… those without the Lord Jesus think they are wise. Isn’t that being wise in their own eyes?
God tells us:
NASB Proverbs 3:7 “Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the LORD and turn away from evil.”
God alone gives His wisdom.
We are to seek God, His ways, and His will – that is Godly wisdom in action.
Godly wisdom says: be teachable and change our behavior to agree with God.
God instructs us with His wisdom, and Godly discernment gives clear insights into what God is saying to us.
NASB Proverbs 1:2 “To know wisdom and instruction,
To discern the sayings of understanding…”
Godly wisdom is to know His instructions – His instructions are His words in the Holy Bible.
To discern, to understand, His words we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit. How can we have God the Holy Spirit? By receiving Christ Jesus as our Savior. Then we are given His Spirit to live within us. It is God who alone can effectively change us – from within.
NASB Proverbs 1:3 “To receive instruction in wise behavior,
Righteousness, justice, and equity.”
Wise behavior – where do you need to change your behavior? Wise behavior which pleases the LORD is to be put into action.
Righteousness – where do you need to change your motives? Righteous behavior agrees with God’s words.
Justice – where do you need to be turning from perverting true, Godly justice? Godly justice is a far cry from perverted justice of the world.
Equity – where do you need to choose to be fair? Godly actions of fairness should be a large part of our motives, words, and actions. Godly wisdom is actively living with Godly behavior.
~ Take it to heart ~
Godly wisdom is to change our behavior,
in the everyday circumstances of our lives.
