People talk to each other. Sign language is communication. Writing is communication.
We communicate our thoughts, hopes, dreams, fears, dislikes by the word of our mouths.
Followers of Christ – all of us have been called to share, to spread, the Good News of Jesus Christ. Some of you have been called by the LORD to go to “the remotest part of the earth” to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
By word of mouth, God’s good news is still being taken to those who have not heard what Jesus did for them.
All followers of Christ – we have been given the power of the Holy Spirit to be witnesses where we live.
Jesus told His followers over 2,000 years ago that they would receive the power of the Holy Spirit. Then they would be witnesses, by word of mouth, of Jesus. Where? Starting in Jerusalem. Then in all of Judea and Samaria and “even to the remotest part of the earth.”
NASB Acts 1:8 “but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”
How could the remotest part of the earth hear about the Lord Jesus? How could they hear about His conception, life, death, resurrection, and ascension? By word of mouth.
Today, TV and the internet transmit words and ideas. The Good News of Jesus Christ can also be shared over the various devices we use every day. And it is all by word of mouth.
We have Good News to share!
Jesus came to seek people and to save them from their sins.
Jesus is the Savior we all need.
NASB Romans 10:9-13 “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
11 For the Scripture says, “WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.”
12 For there is no distinction, between Jew and Greek; for the Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him;
13 for “WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.”
